Volleyball Spring Season
Although volleyball is a fall sport, we do practice in the Spring. Practices are only a couple times a week, but it's a great way for the team to be together and do what we all love to do; play volleyball!! The purpose of Spring Practices are to work on individual skills, as well as play together before we leave for the Summer. This past Friday, we had a special guest who showed us some plyometric exercises. The program is really effective in increasing quickness, balance, and your vertical, which are all critical to have as a volleyball player. It was a lot of hardwork, but also really fun! Yesterday was a big day for the Volleyball team. We had a tournament at Colby Sawyer College. We played 6 different teams throughout the day; Colby Sawyer College, Plymouth State University, University of New England, Keene State College, Southern New Hampshire University, and Roger Williams University. It was a lot of fun and we played a lot of volleyball. :) Instead of standard matches, each game was timed for 30 minutes where you played as much volleyball as possible. We did really well as a team and our Coach was really proud of us. If you want to learn more about the Saint Michael's Volleyball Team, check out our website! - Brianna :)
